But why pigeons?

January 16, 2026

If you’ve spent any time on our socials, or looked a little too closely at our name, you might have asked yourself a perfectly reasonable question:

Why pigeons??

Pigeons are very much “on the team” at Pixel Pigeon Games .

Do they attend meetings? No.

Do they contribute to planning? Also no.

Do they absolutely influence the vibe, the chaos, and the occasional questionable design decision? Yes. Unquestionably.

At its core, Pixel Pigeon Games exists to make cozy games. Games that feel gentle. Games that invite you to slow down, breathe, and settle into a space that feels safe and warm. But real comfort, the kind that lasts, usually has texture. A bit of unpredictability… A moment that makes you smile when you weren’t expecting to. That’s where the pigeons come in 🐦

Pigeons are, objectively, a little ridiculous. They waddle with confidence. They gather in flocks that appear to have no plan. They peck at everything as if this crumb, right here, might finally be the one that explains everything. They are chaotic, persistent, and somehow always in the way, and yet strangely endearing.

They don’t fit neatly into the idea of elegance or control. And that’s exactly the point. Our pigeons are responsible for bringing funny, slightly unhinged energy into otherwise peaceful moments. They remind us that games should be a little silly.

There’s another reason pigeons resonate with us, and it’s a bit more personal. Sometimes your mind isn’t a single, peaceful thought drifting by like a cloud. Sometimes it’s more like a flock of pigeons in a public square, all pecking away at different worries, ideas and distractions at once. And that’s okay.

Our games aren’t made for perfectly quiet minds. They’re made for minds that are a little busy and scattered. Minds that want somewhere soft to land even if the internal pigeons are still flapping around. The pigeons on our team see you (probably because they’re staring directly at you while pecking at crumbs).

Pixel Pigeon Games isn’t about pigeons as a gimmick. It’s about what they symbolise for us as creators. They represent: Playfulness without pressure and humour that doesn’t obstruct sincerity. When we design games, we’re not trying to iron out every wrinkle. We want spaces that feel real, slightly imperfect, capable of surprising you in small ways.

The pigeons are there to remind us not to take ourselves too seriously as well as not to sand away the quirks that make a game feel memorable. If you spot a little pigeon energy in our games, now you’ll know why.
