Moorhaven privacy policy

This covers Moorhaven: Cozy Canal Life and its demo. Last updated 31 October 2026.

The short version

  • The game asks before it collects anything. If you say no, or just close the question, it collects nothing.
  • You can change your mind or delete what was sent at any time: Settings, then Privacy.
  • We use what we collect to fix problems and improve the game. We don't sell it and there are no ads.
  • Your saves stay on your computer.

Who we are

Pixel Pigeon Games Ltd, company number 16738852, registered in England and Wales at 66 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NA. We decide how this data is used, which makes us the data controller. For anything about your data, write to contact@pixelpigeongames.com.

What we collect if you say yes

  • What you do in the game: story steps finished, things made, bought, sold, caught and placed, which build and version you're on, and when.
  • How well it runs: how long the game stops for when it freezes, and what was happening at the time.
  • Your computer: operating system, device model, processor, graphics card, memory, screen size, battery level, volume, and your language and region settings.
  • Identifiers: an ID made for this installation of the game, an ID for this computer, and an ID for each session. Together they let us see that events came from the same computer.
  • Your IP address: Unity receives this when the game sends data, and works out your rough location from it. We see the country.

This data is linked to those IDs, so we treat it as personal data, even though it doesn't include your name.

What we don't collect

Your name, email address, Steam account or Steam ID, the names you type into the game, your saves or your in-game photos.

Why, and our legal basis

We use this data to find and fix bugs and freezes, and to see which parts of the game people enjoy or get stuck on. Our legal basis is your consent, under Article 6(1)(a) of the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR. The rules on storing and reading information on your device also need your consent, and the same question covers that. You can say no and play exactly the same game.

Who else is involved

Unity Technologies runs the analytics service for us. Unity acts as our processor under its data processing addendum, which means it handles this data on our instructions. Unity is a US company, and the data may be processed outside the UK and EEA, including in the United States. Those transfers are covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and the UK's addendum to them, which you can read in that addendum.

Valve runs Steam, which handles your account, achievements, wishlist and downloads. Valve decides how it uses that data itself, under the Steam privacy policy.

How long we keep it

Unity deletes event data automatically after 13 months. Some summary data, such as dashboard figures and the profile for an ID, stays until you ask for it to be deleted or we remove it. If you turn sharing off, nothing new is sent, but what was already sent stays until then unless you delete it.

Your rights

  • Change your mind: Settings, then Privacy, then Share play data. It's as quick as saying yes, and doesn't affect what was collected before.
  • Delete it: Settings, then Privacy, then Delete my play data. This turns sharing off and asks Unity to delete everything from this computer, trying again if you're offline. Your saves aren't touched.
  • See it, correct it, take a copy, or object: write to us at the address above. Use Copy my play data ID on the same page and include the ID, as that's the only way we can find your data. We reply within a month.
  • Complain: write to us at the address above. We'll acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and tell you the outcome without undue delay. You can also complain at any time to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office (0303 123 1113) or your local data protection authority.

Children

We don't knowingly collect play data from anyone under 16. Sharing is off unless someone says yes, and saying yes brings up a question about age. If the answer is under 16, sharing stays off on that computer and can't be turned on. We only keep that answer on the computer itself, and we never keep your age or date of birth. The game plays exactly the same either way. Steam's own terms also require users to be at least 13. If you think a child has shared data with us, use the delete option or write to us and we'll remove it.

What stays on your computer

Your saves, settings and your answer to the question are stored on your computer, and on Steam Cloud if you use it. The game also writes a log file for fixing problems, which only leaves your computer if you send it to us yourself.

If this changes

We'll update this page. If we want to collect something new, the game will ask you again.
