The eggs have hatched!

November 22, 2025

Hello everyone, and welcome to the very first entry of the Pixel Pigeon #devdiaries! 🎉

We’re Pixel Pigeon Games — a small but passionate team on a mission to craft cozy, meaningful games that make players smile, think, and share their experiences with others. We’re big believers in the idea that games can be both relaxing and impactful, a source of joy but also something that leaves a lasting impression. That’s why we set out to create premium casual titles that blend beautiful design, clever mechanics, and just the right amount of challenge.

This diary series is our way of inviting you behind the curtain. We’ll share progress updates, sneak peeks, and little stories from our journey as we build our first big project — Tideborne 🐟

We wanted a game that captures the quiet beauty of underwater life, but also the danger and tension that comes with survival. Early concepts explored a mother fish surrounded by tiny fry, and from there the game loop took shape: explore, protect, survive, and find a safe new home.

In the early weeks, we prototyped different swimming mechanics. Some felt too slow, others too arcade-like. Eventually we found a system that felt smooth and natural — letting players glide through rivers and oceans, dodge predators, and outsmart threats without ever feeling frustrated.

Right now, we’re focusing on building out the first few chapters of Tideborne, complete with unique mechanics and puzzles. It’s equal parts exciting and terrifying — there’s so much to get right, but that’s what makes game development fun.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll share early gameplay clips, and insights into how we’re designing puzzles and habitats. We can’t wait to show you more and hear your feedback. If you love cozy games with a touch of challenge — or if you just want to follow the journey of a scrappy little indie team — stick around. This is just the beginning of Tideborne’s story, and we’d love for you to be a part of it.

See you soon! 👋🐦
